AEW President Tony Khan recently announced a blockbuster debut in the promotion. The star being discussed is Kazuchika Okada, and he will be making his Rampage debut this week. The fastest hour in wrestling will end in 2024 as the promotion signed a new deal with Warner Bros Discovery, and the agreement excludes Rampage.
The Rainmaker had a tremendous year as the Continental Champion and looks to retain the title by winning the Continental Classic tournament. He wrestled his first match of the C2 against TNT Champion Daniel Garcia on Collision. The bout ended in a time-limit draw after 20 minutes.
Kazuchika Okada will be facing Mark Briscoe in the second match of the annual tournament. The former ROH World Champion suffered a brutal loss against Shelton Benjamin in the first round.
Recently, Tony Khan took to Twitter/X and announced that the Continental Champion will take on Briscoe on the upcoming edition of Rampage.
"This Friday, 12/6, 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, Friday Night #AEWRampage, Continental Classic Blue League, Mark Briscoe vs AEW Continental Champion @rainmakerXokada, With both men pursuing points in the C2, @SussexCoChicken fights Continental Champ Okada on a STACKED Rampage this Friday!" he wrote.
It seems like Tony Khan will be stacking up Rampage shows before discontinuing it in 2025.
