Huge AEW Dynamite year-end upset for Claudio Castagnoli

AEW star Claudio Castagnoli suffered a major upset on tonight's Dynamite. He lost to the newly crowned champion Komander. He had a rough Continental Classic, as he didn't pick any victories in the tournament until tonight. It seems like winning last week's ROH World Television Championship at Final Battle helped his confidence.

The Swiss Superman has been one of the dominant competitors in the Continental Classic tournament. He earned nine points after defeating Ricochet, Brody King, and Darby Allin. On the latest edition of Collision, he defeated the Relentless Star with the help of brass knuckles. Ahead of tonight's match on Dynamite, Darby whispered something into the years of Komander.

During tonight's match, Claudio Castagnoli faced Komander in a one-sided contest as the former showcased his strength to suppress his high-flying ability. However, later in the bout, the reigning ROH World Television Champion pulled out Darby Allin's jacket from under the ring, in which brass knuckles were hidden. He hit Castagnoli with the weapon and picked up his first victory in the tournament.

The former TNT Champion completed his revenge by planting the brass knuckles under the ring. It will be interesting to see how Claudio Castagnoli responds to his arch-nemesis actions.
