An AEW star is set to make a return to a rival promotion in what is a huge announcement. This one woukd excite the fans. .
The star in question is none other than El Hijo del Vikingo. He is a big star in Lucha Libre and is the company’s longest reigning AAA Mega Champion at 833 days. However earlier this year, he got injured and had to get surgery for a ruptured ligament.
He was out for a long time but he made his comeback last week at a series of AAA tapings in Monterrey, Mexico. It has now been revealed that following that return, he will be making a return to his former stomping ground, TNA for the Bound for Glory event.
The event will take place on October 26 in Detroit. El Hijo del Vikingo's opponent is yet to be announced but it will be great to see him back in a company where he spent two years from 2018 to 2020.
Konnan claims Vikingo is no longer with AEW
Konnan is known to make some wild claims when it comes to wrestling and he made one recently when he said that Vikingo is no longer a part of AEW.
While Vikingo is not exclusively tied to Tony Khan’s company, he does make appearances from time to time. However, Konnan has now claimed that we might see him elsewhere very soon. Speaking on his K100 podcast, the veteran said:
"No, he [Vikingo] does not work in [All Elite Wrestling], not under contract with AEW and pretty soon you may see him somewhere else.”
That statement now has some weight given that El Hijo del Vikingo is set to make his return to his former stomping ground in TNA. It will be interesting to see if Tony Khan will have something to say about the Mexican wrestler’s future in his company.
