Huge backing for Malakai Black ahead of AEW Full Gear title match

A wrestling veteran showed his support for Malakai Black before his upcoming bout at the Full Gear pay-per-view. The star being discussed is Tony Schiavone.

The House of Black has been among the top AEW tag teams this year. While the entire faction had won the AEW World Trios Championships before, they have yet to win the tag titles. However, things are looking good for the Kings of the Black Throne as they are being pushed significantly.

Malakiai Black and Brody King will face three other teams for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Full Gear. A mini tournament was announced to determine the top contenders for the title where the House of Black members defeated FTR to advance. To win the top prize, they will have to take down Private Party, the Outrunners, and the Acclaimed.

While speaking on What Happened When, Tony Schiavone stated that he wanted Brody King and Malakai Black to win the tag team championship.

“I’m really looking forward to Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy, but the four-way match should be pretty damn good as well. Lot of talent in that ring, and I really have a lot of respect for Brody and Malakai (...) Brody is one of the great guys, and just the House of Black is such a fixture with AEW that I’d really like to see them win the World Tag Team Championship, but we’ll see. Brody King believes he and Malakai Black have an upper hand at Full Gear

The Kings of the Black Throne advanced to Full Gear after qualifying for the four-way match after defeating FTR on last week's Dynamite.

While speaking with Flickering Myth, Brody King claimed they were confident going into the pay-per-view as they defeated multi-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.

"Yeah, that wasn't easy. But, you know, I think that beating FTR, we have a pretty good upper hand in this match now," he said.

It remains to be seen if Brody King and Malakai Black will win their first tag titles at Full Gear 2024.
