AEW top star Britt Baker has been away from television for a while. Amid her extended absence, Baker is set to make an appearance outside of the Tony Khan-led company.
Britt Baker made her monumental return to AEW at the 2024 Forbidden Door pay-per-view after months of being on the shelf due to health issues. Following her comeback, Baker was embroiled in a heated feud with Mercedes Mone over the TBS Championship.
The two top stars locked horns at AEW All In 2024, where Baker failed to dethrone The CEO. After that, the former Women's World Champion wrestled two more matches and went on hiatus. Since then, there has been no significant update on her status.
Amid her absence from AEW programming, Baker's next appearance has been confirmed. The former Women's World Champion took to her Instagram Story to announce that she will be appearing at Astronomicon 8. It will take place between April 4 and April 6 at Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, Ypsilanti, MI.
Why has AEW star Britt Baker been wanting to leave her dentistry practice?
As it is well known, Britt Baker is a certified dentist and has integrated her medical career into her wrestling gimmick. She is known as Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D among the AEW fan base.
In a recent appearance on DDP's Gauntlet, Baker revealed that she had to reconsider her career as a dentist. Baker disclosed that fans scheduled appointments only to meet her and ask for autographs and photos, considering her status as a wrestler. This seemingly disturbed her clinic's day-to-day operations.
"It was turning into, like a Comic-Con, where people were coming in, because you can find me. People were coming in and asking for autographs and pictures. And like, they'd schedule appointments, take up appointments slots. And my staff, they were like 'Whoa, we got to make money. This isn't it, this isn't it, Britt.' And then there's just some scary fans. Like, where we had to call the cops, and they were going to come and kill us." [H/T: WrestlingInc.]
It remains to be seen when fans can see Baker back inside the squared circle in the Tony Khan-led company.
