One of The Hurt Syndicate's members is set for a major appearance next week as they will take on a long-time AEW star in a first-time-ever singles match. This would be Shelton Benjamin vs. Sammy Guevara.

Guevara would be making his return from an injury scare a few weeks ago. The Spanish God was in action against Serpentico during the tapings for ROH almost three weeks ago when he took an awkward landing after a move. The match was immediately called off, and he had to be stretchered out of the arena.

It was reported that he had gotten a concussion. But recent reports have indicated that he was now cleared to wrestle.

Tonight on AEW Collision, Sammy Guevara appeared in a video package. After five successful years with the company, he wanted to give back to the fans by competing at the highest level. He then revealed that he spoke to Tony Khan about wanting a match with Shelton Benjamin.

He revealed that he grew up watching The Gold Standard and wanted to face him in a match. This was made official for next week's edition of AEW Dynamite.

This would be Shelton's second match on the promotion after a successful outing against Lio Rush a few days ago.
