The annual Continental Classic tournament on Dynamite kicked off this Wednesday. Last year, the series was a boon for AEW as it revived the promotion from a very dull period and helped it draw audiences with top-notch matches and unique matchups.
Shelton Benjamin and Mark Briscoe started the much-awaited tournament. The former has suffered one defeat in his nascent AEW career and has picked up victory in three bouts. His only defeat came against Swerve Strickland at Fright Night Dynamite. Meanwhile, Mark Briscoe will be looking to win the Continental Championship this year after failing to emerge victorious last year.
