A veteran journalist has given an interesting reaction to Adam Copeland’s name change in AEW and it is something the fans might agree with. Copeland might start to have second thoughts about the name change.
Copeland came back to AEW at Worlds End where he confronted Jon Moxley and the Death Riders alongside FTR. A few days later, it was revealed that he would now go by the name Cope. That drew a lot of confusion from the fans.
Dave Meltzer gave his two cents on the matter and said that he has no idea why Copeland decided to take that decision. He was speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio when he said:
"I have no idea why. I think that because his whole career he was Edge, so he just figures that he should be Cope. Whatever, it's his call, I mean it doesn't make, it doesn't make a difference, he's Adam Copeland. The idea absolutely is to just call him Cope, yes. It's his call, I don't think it changes the world or anything. I wouldn't have done it. ... You'd have to ask him why, you know what I mean? I said I wouldn't have done it, but it's not like anything where I go like 'Oh, stupid idea,' it's just something." [H/T - WrestlingInc.]

Dutch Mantell does not like Adam Copeland’s new name
Adam Copeland is the talk of the town and his name change just keeps adding to the topic of discussion. Adding to the list of wrestling personalities not liking his new name is Dutch Mantell.
Mantell is known to be an open critic of things he does not like and he did not mince his words on the latest episode of his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast. He said:
“I don't like it already, Cope. Put an 'S' in front of it, could be 'Scope'... I wonder if they could get the 'S' to mean anything. Scope... Cope... [laughs] Yeah... Sullivan Cope, what the hell? Dr. Sullivan Cope? We'll come up with something if we keep throwing it around.”
Given all the noise around his name, it will be interesting to see if Adam Copeland will have anything to say about it anytime soon.
