The Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match between Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland at AEW All Out ended in a controversial manner. A WWE personality has also criticized the finish of the gruesome bout.
Sam Roberts was the latest to comment on the controversial ending to the unsanctioned match at AEW All Out. After a year of feuding with each other, Swerve and Hangman decided to settle their issues in a brutal steel cage battle. Anticipating the violence to follow, AEW washed their hands off any responsibility from before the bout.
The match was every bit as violent as fans expected, as both men did not let up against each other. The talking point of the bout was the finish which saw Hangman Page hit Swerve with an unprotected chair shot to the head, knocking the latter out, thereby ending the contest.
Speaking on his NotSam Wrestling podcast, WWE personality, Sam Roberts, referring the ending of the match and said "I don't like any of it." He stated that the chair shot to the head, whether gimmicked or not, wasn't needed. He noted how dangerous such actions were and that he would never be a fan of them.

"I think there are ways to do this without steel chair shots to the head even when steel chair shots to the head are gimmicked. Just the fact that we know how bad they are is enough just to say let's just avoid it entirely. I don't like gimmicked head shots. I don't like non-gimmicked chair shots to the head. I don't like any of it. I think it's bad. I think it takes you out of the match because you know how dangerous it is and you kind of object to it happening to anybody that you like seeing perform whether you cheer for them or boo them. If it were a one-time thing maybe," he said [50:35 onward]
