AEW star Isiah Kassidy of The Private Party recently recalled getting his first AEW contract and thanked Tony Khan and The Young Bucks for it. Private Party are current World Tag Team Champions.
Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen officially joined AEW in April 2019. After competing against Best Friends and SCU at 2019's Fyter Fest event, the duo were signed to their first salaried contracts by the Jacksonville-based promotion.
In a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, Private Party spoke about their first salary contract. Isaiah Kassidy thanked The Young Bucks and Tony Khan for the contract and shared how grateful he was for the job. He also asked his mother to immediately quit her job.
"First salary contract. I was so grateful. I thanked The Bucks, I thanked Tony Khan. I called my mom. ‘Quit your job. We made it.’"
Marq Quen recalls speaking to his mom and telling her about the first contract:
"I called my mom and asked her, ‘What does this mean?’ ‘Why are you asking me this?’ ‘This is what they offered us.’ Next thing I know, I hear her crying. ‘This must be a big deal.’" [H/T:Fightful]
Matt Hardy opens up about Private Party winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships
A couple of weeks ago on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite, Private Party surprisingly defeated The Young Bucks to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
In a recent episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, The Broken One stated that he loved seeing Private Party become Tag Team Champions. Hardy revealed that he spoke to the duo before the title change.
"I was pretty positive they were gonna win from speaking to them. In pro wrestling though, it is never official until it actually happens and it goes down in real time. That was great, I know I made a quick post about them and I even acknowledged how it cool it was that we had just won the TNA Tag Team Titles and they won the AEW Tag Team Titles. Very, very cool, all of Hardy Party is strapped up now with a little bit of gold on the shoulder," Matt Hardy said. [H/T: Fightful]
Matt Hardy and Private Party had an alliance in All Elite Wrestling in 2020. It will be interesting to see if they reunite in the future.
