QT Marshall is signed with AEW, however, not as an in-ring performer. He is reportedly their Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination. Interestingly, he is allowed to wrestle for other promotions, apart from the WWE. The 39-year-old also owns a popular wrestling school with Glacier and Cody Rhodes.
Since its inception in 2019, AEW has become a strong competitor to WWE. The promotion, owned and led by Tony Khan has become one of the major players and has attracted several top stars in pro wrestling all over the world. This has also led to a division within fans with some supporting WWE and others supporting AEW.
Marshall recently made an appearance on the Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL podcast where he had a conversation with Konnan. In it, he spoke of the thought process and behavior of AEW fans. He strongly believes that the Jacksonville-based promotion's fans are intelligent and well-educated about the industry. He added they need more friends because sometimes, they act socially awkward.
"I believe our fanbase is much more intelligent than just the casual fan, so they do expect a higher quality, but also I was telling Disco [Inferno] while you weren't here like I think that the fanbase is just so excited to not be at WWE ..." said Marshall. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
He continued that he was making the point seriously.
"I always try to make the joke, but I'm serious, like I wish our fans just had more friends ... they're very timid, like when we go to the airports right and there's collectors there, even the collectors they just stare at you, and it's like dude just say hi, like I'm not mad at you for wanting to make money, I don't give a s**t, but don't be weird," he said. AEW's QT Marshall explains how Cody Rhodes trains students at The Nightmare Factory
In the same conversation mentioned above, Marshall described how Cody Rhodes trained the students of the school they owned. He revealed that the Undisputed WWE Champion's teaching style is unique and he was deeply appreciative of him.
"When he starts training he asks you 'Who is your favorite wrestler?'. Then Cody would say 'I want you to treat every person you meet in wrestling as your favorite. And if you do that it will go a long way for your career," he said [From 1:o5 to 1:24]
QT Marshall was a member of the AEW stable, Nightmare Family, alongside Arn Anderson, Cody Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, and several others.
