WWE veteran Jim Cornette recently gave a piece of advice to Britt Baker after her recently reported AEW backstage controversy against MJF. Baker was suspended from the company due to the issue.
Some recent reports revealed that Britt Baker and MJF got into a heated verbal exchange a couple of weeks ago backstage on Dynamite. Britt was rumored to be furious and took shots backstage during the hour long match between Will Ospreay and MJF on the 250th episode of Dynamite last month.
On his Jim Cornette Drive Thru podcast, the former WWE manager advised Britt Baker to stop picking up fights as she was in a good position in All Elite Wrestling.
"There's plenty to criticize on that show but for MJF and [Will] Ospreay to be the thing that she decides to go to war over, as JR would say, 'To die on that hill.' What the f*ck? It's better than anything else on that program, including your matches Britt because let's face it, she looks good and she got the heel promo down and then she became a babyface, and now as long as she's talking about her real-life medical issues, she's a very captivating speaker but otherwise, she looks great, she wrestles eh and they [AEW] like her because she's been there a while. And we don't see too much of her because she goes away so often and we don't get tired of it. (...) She's in a pretty good position. If I were her, I'd shut my pie hole." [9:30 - 10:54]
Booker T also gave his thoughts on the 1-hour match between Will Ospreay and MJF on AEW Dynamite
All Elite Wrestling surprisingly booked an hour long match on the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite between MJF and Will Ospreay for the International Championship.
WWE NXT commentator Booker T, on his Hall of Fame podcast, spoke about the match-up and claimed that wrestling fans do not want to see hour long matches on television.
"An hour of Broadway on television these days? (...) I don't know. I could be wrong but I don't think people are interested in watching people wrestle for an hour on television these days. But I could be wrong on that." [From 21:51 to 22:11]
MJF is set to defend his AEW American Championship against Will Ospreay at the All In PPV. It will be interesting to see if Ospreay can regain the title in his hometown.
