Former AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega cut a passionate promo ahead of his in-ring return after more than a year. Omega also hinted that this could be the last match ever for him.
Kenny Omega has been out of action for more than a year as he was suffering from diverticulitis. He wrestled his last match on an episode of Collision in December 2023 and fans have been anticipating his comeback ever since. The Best Bout Machine is finally set for his in-ring return.
A few months ago, Omega returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling and had a backstage brawl with rising star, Gabe Kidd. The match between Kenny and Kidd was made official later for Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025, in the Tokyo Dome. Ahead of their big match this Sunday, the two came face-to-face during a presser event.
After Gabe Kidd took multiple jabs at Omega, Kenny made a passionate statement saying he would be proud to have his last-ever match in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Omega also namedropped Will Ospreay and Jay White:
"If this is the last match I ever have, I'm proud to have it in this company. But what you need to understand is that this company exists on my name alone... You think you're in the same league [as Jay White or Will Ospreay]? Prove it to me in the Dome." [2:57:03-2:57:48]
Kenny Omega made his AEW return at a recent event
Ahead of his first match in over a year this Sunday, Kenny Omega also showed up on AEW. After Kazuchika Okada won the Continental Classic, Christopher Daniels came out and revealed that he was no longer the interim EVP as Omega returned. Kenny handed the Continental Title to Okada and the two had a little face-off.
While The Best Bout Machine has teased a match against Okada upon his return, fans will have to wait to see when he makes his in-ring return in AEW.
