This week's episode of AEW Dynamite aired several important matches and witnessed Toni Storm's blockbuster return. The show's ratings have now been revealed and slightly improved over last week's figures.
The 2024 edition of Dynamite: Winter is Coming emanated from the T-Mobile Centre in Kansas City, MO. The episode featured multiple high-stakes bouts, including two Continental Classic matches and an AEW Women's World Title match between Mina Shirakawa and Mariah May.
The highlight of the episode came after The Glamour retained her belt against her former tag partner, as Toni Storm made her shocking return to AEW with her original persona. It also featured other top All Elite figures and former WWE names, including Jon Moxley, Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, and even Matt Cardona, who is set to challenge The Learning Tree for his ROH World Title at Final Battle 2024.
The action-packed event has led to a modest spike in ratings for Dynamite, as Wrestlenomics has reported that the December 11 show drew 594,000 viewers with an 18-49 demo rating of 0.17.
This marks an improvement over the figures drawn by the December 4 edition of the show, which pulled in 586,000 viewers, although the key demo rating remained unchanged.
Mariah May responded to Toni Storm's AEW return
As mentioned above, Dynamite: Winter is Coming this week closed out with the comeback of Toni Storm. The former Timeless One's return received an overwhelmingly positive reception from the audience. It visibly surprised her former Thunder-Storm ally, Thunder Rosa, who was in the crowd for Mariah May's AEW Women's World Title defense against Mina Shirakawa.
Despite her initial bewilderment, The Fighting Princess was quick to dismiss any concerns over her former mentor coming back in a backstage exclusive. She also issued a warning to La Mera Mera, stating:
"I don't give a f**k about Toni Storm. What happened to Toni is the same thing that happened to Mina, and exactly what is going to happen to Thunder Rosa. Every single woman I step in the ring with has the same hopes and dreams, and then they wish they were never born," May said.
Storm has already returned to action, as she defeated Harley Cameron on tapings for this week's Rampage.
