MJF is one of the hottest stars in AEW and everything he does is seen through a magnifying glass and eventually leads to a lot of talk. This time around, there is once again talk about his future with the company.
The former AEW World Champion was last seen at AEW All Out where he defeated the returning Daniel Garcia in a grudge match. He has not been seen since then, as he has been busy with his shooting schedule.
Now, new reports have emerged about his whereabouts and when he might be coming back to AEW. Fightful Select has reported that MJF has been away as he is shooting for a significant role in Adam Sandler’s new movie, Happy Gilmore 2. Apart from him, names like Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny are also set to be a part of the movie.
The report has also highlighted the eventual return of the AEW star. It said that his return to the company would be sooner rather than later. Although, no date for his return was mentioned. So, the short answer for whether he is done with AEW is no.
JBL comments on potentially managing MJF
MJF and JBL don't just have similar names but also similar personalities and characters in wrestling. The two of them are mega heels and do whatever they can to make sure to get under the skin of their opponents.
The WWE Hall of Famer was recently asked if he would be interested in becoming Maxwell’s manager in AEW. He was participating in a recent Q&A session with Gerald Brisco when he said:
"I don’t know. It’s a great question. I’m a big fan of MJF. I’ve told this story a few times. I met him in England one time and got to ride to the airport with him and spent part of the day with him because we both had a signing and a big fan of his. He’s a really smart guy, he’s a sharp guy. I think he’s a great talent."
If that does indeed come to take place, then it will be great for fans to witness two mega heels run riot in the company.
