Throughout the closing chapter of his full-time in-ring career in AEW, Bryan Danielson had been open about physiological issues stemming from damage to his neck. After losing the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024, The American Dragon's neck was annihilated by Claudio Castagnoli with a steel chair, bringing the 43-year-old's last run to a grim end.

During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Danielson opened up on the present condition of his neck, adjusting to dysregulated sleep, and spending time with his family and his children.

"My neck is not great... It's causing me to not sleep good and some of these other things. But at the end of the day, I'm happy. At first, it was a little bit tough. For parents out there, it's like the first three weeks you have a child and you're not sleeping at all, but then you get used to not sleeping very well. So I've just become used to not sleeping. And yeah, I'm happy and I've had an incredible time being with my family and being with kids, especially, we just had Thanksgiving..." [4:02 - 4:37]

The former Blackpool Combat Club member also disclosed that he was trying to hold off on surgery as a last resort and voiced his thoughts on the odds of his return to the squared circle.

"I'm trying to avoid it [surgery]... The idea to me is that surgery is a last resort and not a first resort. So, I'm trying some other things.. I'm a little kooky, people know me.. I'm gonna try some other things first before going under the knife... If I had to guess right now, I would say it's 50/50 if I'll ever (wrestle again). And you know what, I'm okay with that. I loved the time I got to spend doing this, but I also love what I'm doing now, so." [4:43- 5:42]
