Cody Rhodes may not be alone in his family as a world champion if an AEW veteran's words are correct. Another member of his family apparently has what it takes to bag a World title, too.
The family member being referenced is Dustin Rhodes, a member of AEW. While he is not very active in the ring, his occasional matches have always been top-notch. He is currently a backstage coach, helping the younger wrestlers make their mark in the business.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, AEW producer Ray Llyod commented on whether Dustin could be inserted into the company's world title picture. Llyod stated:
"The short answer is I certainly hope so. Yes, I do believe that. It's in his blood. It's in his blood to be a competitor. It's part of being, you know, that Rhodes tradition. But that being said, I think he is in a really good place as far as his position as a wrestler right now in AEW because, just from what I see, he really does embrace that role of being a mentor and a locker-room veteran."
The WCW veteran further added:
"And there's a lot of talent that look up to him and go to him for advice, which is really good to see. I definitely think that he is ready to pull the trigger. If they feel like it's a thing to put him in that position for a run, I think he is 100% ready for it." [11:28 onwards]
Only time will tell if Dustin Rhodes will get back on the active scene soon.
