Jack Perry’s next challenger was seemingly teased on AEW Collision: Grand Slam. If something comes out of this, then it is going to make for great viewing.
Perry had an open challenge for his TNT Championship, and the returning Minoru Suzuki answered it. The match was great, and it ultimately ended with The Scapegoat coming out on top and successfully retaining his title.
He ended up winning the match via countout after hitting Suzuki with a DDT on the floor. After the match, as Jack Perry attacked Suzuki, his fellow Japanese star Katsuyori Shibata came out to make the save. Seeing him come down to the ring, Perry escaped with his TNT title in hand.
Shibata then stared down the member of The Elite, seemingly confirming that he was going to be Perry’s new challenger. Katsuyori Shibata is undoubtedly a talented wrestler but has not had the opportunity to get a shot at the top titles.
It will be interesting to see how this particular feud develops in the coming weeks. Given that Jack Perry has the backing of the EVPs, The Young Bucks, one can expect a lot of shenanigans from Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.
