Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette recently lashed out at AEW for a top star's schedule. This star is a current champion in Tony Khan's promotion. Will Ospreay is arguably one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. Given his impressive skillset, it didn't come as a surprise when AEW signed him as soon as his contract with NJPW expired.
Since arriving in Tony Khan's promotion, The Aerial Assassin has lived up to expectations. He has put on stellar matches consistently and recently won the International Championship.
Will Ospreay has previously revealed that he joined the Jacksonville-based promotion because the relaxed schedule would allow him to visit his home in England.
During a recent episode of his Drive Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette lambasted the Tony Khan-led promotion for giving Ospreay a relaxed schedule.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"If there was a legitimate good reason for it, then, you know, that you used to do that with legends that were working part-time, or big names that would come in and draw you some money or help you out, but a guy that you've signed to be paid every week to work basically one day a week and wants to live in England?'' he said.
Jim Cornette added:
''I don't give a god**n, and if this was again a generation ago when people's payoffs were tied to the money they drew and the tickets they sold, you [Will Ospreay] would've done...you would've crawled across broken glass before you would've missed being on TV for a week as a talent and as a main event guy." Jim Cornette wants WWE to sign Willow Nightingale
Willow Nightingale has proven herself to be a top star in AEW. She has delivered great matches in the promotion to establish her credentials as a singles star. The 30-year-old is a former TBS Champion. Although she lost the title to Mercedes Mone, Nightingale is still a popular star in Tony Khan's company.
Hence, Jim Cornette suggested on his Drive Thru podcast that WWE should sign the former TBS Champion.
"Get Willow, get Willow, get Willow—that's my advice to WWE. Get Willow, get Willow, get Willow!" he said.
It will be interesting to see if Willow joins the Stamford-based promotion in the future.
