AEW commentator Jim Ross recently revealed his thoughts on the company airing the All In backstage footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, the EVPs, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson of The Young Bucks, shockingly revealed the footage of a backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry, where The Second City Saint choked Jungle Boy after the latter seemingly badmouthed the former AEW World Champion.
Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross shared his opinion on Tony Khan airing the All In footage and stated that it helped in the build-up to FTR versus The Young Bucks at AEW Dynasty.
"The value of showing that footage to me was the fact that you got on with your storytelling to further marry FTR and The Bucks. So to me, when that was the direction that was chosen, I was much more comfortable showing that footage. Other than that, I'm not sure what it meant. I'm not sure why we did it other than the fact that it helped tie together a very crucial and important pay-per-view match. So that's my thoughts on that deal,” said Ross. [H/T:WrestlingNews]

Booker T questions why Tony Khan fired CM Punk after seeing AEW All In footage
Former AEW World Champion CM Punk was let go by Tony Khan in September 2023 after his physical altercation with Jack Perry at the All In PPV event. Punk would go on to make his historic WWE return in November at the Survivor Series War Games 2023 Premium Live Event.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T reacted to the footage and stated that he does not think CM Punk did the wrong thing.
"Me personally, I don't think that was a fireable offense. I don't know what has been going on behind the scenes with CM Punk and Tony Khan or anything like that for Tony Khan to make a decision like that off of what we saw because that did not seem like it was anything other than the boys getting into it. I've gotten into it with guys on the roster many many times. And normally after it happens, they will bring us in, and say guys, 'Either we're gonna get along or somebody's going to have to get along, one of the two,' And we shake hands and get back to work," said Booker. WWE has been quiet about the All In footage and it is unlikely that the Stamford-based promotion will ever mention the footage on WWE TV. Will Punk react to the footage? Only time will tell!
