AEW commentator Jim Ross recently claimed that a young star in Tony Khan's promotion is the best worker in the business. The name in question is none other than Jack Perry.
The 27-year-old has become one of the most controversial stars in the past year. Jack Perry had a backstage altercation with CM Punk at AEW All In 2023 which led to his suspension from the promotion. He has since reinvented himself in Japan as The Scapegoat and made his return to television earlier this year. Jack Perry captured the TNT Championship at Forbidden Door PPV in June.
Perry is set to challenge Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship at this Saturday's All Out PPV. In a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross expressed his excitement for the matchup and revealed that Jack Perry is one of his favorites in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"I expect to see excellence in this match. Bryan Danielson is beyond compared, he’s the best worker in the world and an amazing pro wrestling star. He’ll do all he can to make Jack Perry look like the next coming. It’s up to Jack to stay face-to-face, just listen. I think it will be a really exciting main event. It’s a new match. Now I’m sure they’ve wrestled each other somewhere down the road without question, but I believe that they will have a great match. They match up well, they’re both fast, they’re both fundamentally sound. Jack Perry is very motivated and he’s one of my favorites."
JR acknowledged the controversies Jack Perry has faced since the past year and admired the latter for overcoming it all and turning his career around.
"He just got caught up in a bunch of bullsh*t and sludge last year. He’s worked his way out of it, which I’ve admired him for. Being in the ring with Bryan, there’s no better opportunity to show what you know to stay pace for pace with the champ. I think it will be a real good main event, I really do. I think they’ll carry the load and close the show as we expect them to in a fantastic way.” [H/T: Fightful]
