Cody Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. However, before he accomplished his American Dream in the Stamford-based company, he worked with AEW for four years.

In the Jacksonville-based promotion, The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes faced his real brother Dustin Rhodes in a singles match at the inaugural Double or Nothing PPV in May 2019, which he won. After having a spectacular run, he left Tony Khan's company in February 2022 due to creative differences.

Speaking on the latest edition of Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed that he loved the brother vs. brother bout, which featured Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes in AEW. He added that it was the "best" match he's ever called in the promotion. He said;

"Dustin [Rhodes] versus Cody [Rhodes]. I love that match, and I'll say it today, all these months and weeks and years later, that was the best I ever called in AEW to date."

He then explained why this match stood out as the greatest he has ever called in AEW.

" There have been a lot of good ones, but that was so–that match had the unique emotional element that you couldn't get in just an angle, or storyline. They're real brothers, and that had told a great story leading into it, and then man, they delivered like champions in the match itself. So I'll always be grateful for those two guys, Cody and Dustin, for having the match, and then I feel very blessed that I was part of the broadcast team." (H/T Wrestling Inc)

Cody Rhodes' brother Dustin Rhodes requests fans not to hate on AEW

Since its inception in 2019, AEW has consistently faced criticism. But lately, the detractors have been targeting Tony Khan and his promotion heavily on social media. Seeing this, Dustin Rhodes went to X/Twitter to make a humble request to the wrestling universe. He urged fans to stop constantly criticizing AEW and instead support the company.

Rhodes' AEW contract has ended already, and he is in the midst of a contract negotiation with Tony Khan.
