Legendary commentator Jim Ross is optimistic about the rumored AEW arrival of former WWE Superstar Ricochet. The One And Only has become one of the hottest free agents since leaving Stamford-based promotion last month.

Recent rumors have suggested that the AEW will likely be his next landing spot. While nothing has been set in stone yet, several AEW stars have teased the idea of Ricochet joining the Jacksonville-based company.

Speaking on the recent episode of Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer heaped praise on Ricochet and is confident that he would thrive under the AEW umbrella:

"I don't know if that is etched in stone or not. I would think so. I would think that he would be all-hands-on-deck and do a great job. So, I'm a fan of his work. He's a nice kid and I wish him nothing but great success," said Jim Ross. (H/T WrestlingInc)

Will former WWE Superstar Ricochet debut in AEW with a new character?

Ricochet remained a beloved babyface throughout his entire run in the Stamford-based promotion. It could be argued that he never really got the opportunity to play the role of a villain. But AEW is tailor-made for Ricochet, given his size and high-flying nature in the ring.

The 35-year-old Superstar could unveil a dark side if given significant creative freedom.

Sportskeeda Wrestling's own Vince Russo recently entertained the thought of Ricochet forming an unlikely alliance with Jeff Jarrett:

"I just saw some stuff online where Jeff Jarrett lost the cup, the Owen Hart memorial cup and he was all distraught, this and that. Bro, let Jarrett turn and fire Lethal and Sonjay Dutt because they were never in the WWE. 'You guys pulled me down, man. I tried to raise you up but you were never in the WWE.' Now you do Ricochet and, you know, former WWE, bro, I think that would be huge heat with AEW fans," Russo said.

With All In right around the corner, it will be interesting to see if Ricochet will debut in time to build up a storyline heading into AEW's biggest event of the year.
