The speculation on AEW potentially signing Jinder Mahal just picked up. The veteran star is set to team with who is literally one of the biggest pro wrestlers going today, and they will be managed by a WWE Hall of Famer.
The Modern Day Maharaja was released from his WWE contract on April 19 along with other budget cuts. Mahal is now using "Raj Dhesi" as his ring name, but will not officially become a free agent until his 90-day non-compete clause expires on Thursday, July 18. He was previously announced to make his Black Label Pro debut on Friday, July 26.
AAA announced today that Jinder will team with AEW's Satnam Singh on Saturday, August 17 at Triplemania XXXII in Mexico City, Mexico. They will be managed by the legendary Jeff Jarrett, who also works as AEW's Director of Business Development.
The former WWE Champion and the 7-foot-4 wrestler will challenge for the AAA Tag Team Championship, currently held by Psycho Clown and Negro Casas. The other team in the Triple Threat features Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno del Mal.

Mahal has not wrestled since WWE SmackDown on April 5, where he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The 20-year veteran had his last singles match on April 1, where he defeated Tozawa at the Main Event tapings.
The AAA card for August 17 will also feature AAA Mega Champion Nic Nemeth fka Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto El Patron, Matt Riddle vs. Laredo Kid, a Casket Match with Vampiro vs. an opponent to be announced, and more.
