Jon Moxley is on a crusade to transform AEW, and his vision is to revamp the company from the ground up. The 38-year-old recently addressed a frustrating aspect of the promotion's infrastructure and how he plans to change it.
Fans couldn't understand why Jon Moxley and The Blackpool Combat Club turned on Bryan Danielson ahead of WrestleDream, but his vision is now starting to become clearer. The AEW World Champion is unsatisfied with many aspects of his home promotion, and he's intent on changing things—by force, if necessary.
In a recent interview with New York Post, Mox relayed a conversation he overheard backstage, explaining that it was just one of many issues:
"It was a situation where talents were not put in a position to succeed due to lack of preparation, framework, direction, and things like that. This individual said, 'Well, it’s the bottom of the card; it doesn’t matter.' Can you imagine saying that? Like, you’re f***ing fired. Yeah, you’re f***ing fired. Go work at Sunglass Hut. You should be f***ing pistol-whipped for saying that." [H/T New York: Post]

Jon Moxley then elaborated on his plan to build a new framework in AEW:
"Everybody that’s on the top was at one time on the bottom. That’s how it works. You climb the ladder. You see a lot of frustration and confusion from some of these talents because there is no f***ing ladder. They don’t know what to do. They’re kind of just wandering in the desert. We’re gonna grab them by the shoulder and were gonna walk 'em." [H/T: New York Post]
Update on potential recruitment for Jon Moxley's Death Riders
Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson teamed up to form The Blackpool Combat Club in early 2022. They later recruited Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, and Moxley added Pac and Marina Shafir to the faction after betraying Danielson.
Now, from the ashes of the BCC, the Death Riders have emerged, and they're intent on tearing All Elite Wrestling down in order to rebuild it.
The faction currently consists of five members, and it seems there aren't any plans to add to that in the near future. When asked whether the company planned to expand the stable in a recent Fight Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp claimed that he hadn't heard of any such plans.
The Death Riders are facing heavy opposition in the form of Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, and several others. However, the faction's gang mentality and brutal tactics have brought them success so far. Whether they'll be able to complete their overhaul of AEW remains to be seen.
