AEW star Jon Moxley was attacked in the closing moments of Dynamite: Grand Slam. The star who arrived in a hoodie is none other than Bryan Danielson. He defeated Nigel McGuinness in the opening contest of the night.
Jon and Bryan were part of the Blackpool Combat Club, founded and managed by William Regal in 2022. Later, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli joined them and dominated the roster for a while. Unexpectedly, the stable imploded at this year's All Out pay-per-view after Claudio and Moxley turned on Danielson. The Puryevor of Violence shocked everyone when he choked the latter with a plastic bag.
Later, Jon Moxley explained his actions, saying that Bryan Danielson didn't have the guts to do what the new faction was about to do. Not only that, he even aims to win the world title from his former friend. During the Dynamite: Grand Slam's main event, he defeated Darby Allin and replaced him as the number-one contender to face the American Dragon.
Following the victory, Danielson, who wore a hoodie, attacked Jon Moxley and tried to choke him with a necktie. However, PAC and Claudio Castagnoli came out to save their teammate. To even out the odds, Private Party and Komander came to the rescue of the American Dragon.
The former Blackpool Combat Club members will battle for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream.
