AEW star Jon Moxley isn't afraid to speak his mind. He recently called his friend-turned-nemesis Bryan Danielson a "hardcore addict."
At All Out earlier this year, The Purveyor of Violence turned on Bryan and attacked him, thus establishing a new feud in the process. The latter then retaliated at Dynamite: Grand Slam. The two rivals are set to battle it out at the upcoming PPV WrestleDream on Saturday.
Before their clash on October 12, AEW released a video package called 'Danielson vs Moxley: A War for the Future of AEW | Countdown to AEW WrestleDream LIVE on PPV' that included highlights from The American Dragon and Mox's current rivalry.
In the video, the former IWGP Champion addressed his rival, calling him a hardcore addict, and vowed to retire him from in-ring competition. He said:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
“Bryan Danielson's an addict. Believe me, I know an addict when I see one...And this guy is a hardcore addict. How long do you think this retirement is gonna last if I don't do something about it? It's my responsibility, it is my duty to put him so far down into the dirt, that he never ever-ever comes back. It's my responsibility to him as a friend. It is my desitny... The American Dragon is already dead and underneath the surface he knows it....”
Bryan Danielson shares health update ahead of AEW WrestleDream 2024
It is not hidden that Bryan Danielson has been suffering from neck issues, which requires him to go under the knife. He recently had a grueling match against Kazuchika Okada, which exacerbated his neck issue.
Speaking with Uncrowned with Yahoo Sports, he revealed that he lost strength in his body midway through the match against The Rainmaker on the October 2 edition of Dynamite.
"I went to the trainer right away and they worked on me for like 30 minutes. They said it was stemming from the neck stuff. It’s getting to a point where, physically, we’re seeing the signs. I haven’t been sleeping well because I have been having this shooting pain down my arm,” said Bryan
Former Daniel Bryan was set to retire after All In, but he won the AEW World Champion at the event after beating Swerve Strickland, which derailed his retirement plans. He will now retire when he drops his title.
