Tonight on AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley's in-ring return was announced after a break of nearly two and a half months. This came after he finally had that conversation he had been meaning to have with Darby Allin for some time now.
During their face-to-face encounter tonight, Darby Allin spoke first. He talked about how he once looked up to Jon Moxley, but this changed the moment he attacked Bryan Danielson. He could not wrap his head around how he could go after someone that close to him. Allin then gave Mox the spotlight as he wanted to hear about what he wanted to say.
Moxley cut to the chase and mentioned how he wanted the world title shot that Darby possessed. He had earned this by winning the Royal Rampage Battle Royale. This title bout was set for Dynamite: Grand Slam in two weeks, but with Bryan out of action indefinitely, this may be pushed back to a later date.
Allin refused to simply give this opportunity to him as he wanted Moxley to earn it. Jon Moxley then proposed a challenge at Dynamite: Grand Slam for a match with the world title opportunity on the line.
Darby then accepted this challenge, and the match was also made official by AEW. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out which of these men will be the next to challenge Bryan Danielson and the one who could possibly retire him.
