Jon Moxley recently recalled a major appearance he made outside AEW that didn't go well. Since his arrival in the company in 2019, Moxley has been one of the top stars. As a result, he gets a lot of attention everywhere he goes, especially at a Cincinnati Bengals game.
On December 4, 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals played host to the Kansas City Chief for a Week 13 game. The Bengals secured the surprising win with a final score of 27-24. However, the game was talked about for other reasons.
Jon Moxley and Renee Paquette were invited to be guest Rulers of the Jungle for that week. While it was supposed to be a simple appearance, it got out of hand when the Purveyor of Violence said Patrick Mahomes was going to pi*s in his pants. The people in the Bengals office didn't like the former AEW World Champion's comments.
Moxley and Renee sat down for an interview with Cincinnati.com, where they recalled the incident. The current AEW World Champion remembered that they took away the microphone from everybody after the incident.
"I think they took away a live [microphone] from anybody going forward. I didn’t even say anything that bad. They asked me to pump up the crowd."
Moxley defended himself by saying that his comments weren't so bad and that trash talk is allowed in the NFL.
"Yeah, and that’s not that bad. It’s not that bad at all. Get out of here, dude. It’s Sunday. This is football. It’s not Sunday School hopscotch. It’s the NFL. But yeah, they got all upset about it." [H/T Fightful]
Powerhouse Hobbs sent a warning for Jon Moxley
Since winning the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream, Jon Moxley has a big target on his back. There have been a lot of people gunning for his title, including Jay White, Hangman Adam Page, and Orange Cassidy.
Additionally, Christian Cage is also waiting for the right opportunity to cash in on his contract. His most recent challenger is Powerhouse Hobbs, who won the Casino Gauntlet match last week. This past week on AEW Collision, Hobbs had a powerful message for the World Champion.
"There is nothing you can actually do to me. So this Wednesday, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mox, I am going to make you my b**ch." [From 0:57 to 1:09]
It will be interesting to see if Powerhouse Hobbs can defeat Jon Moxley for the World Title.
