Kazuchika Okada and Shelton Benjamin squared off in a Continental Classic Blue League match on this week's Dynamite at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The Elite member prevailed over The Hurt Syndicate member.

With another victory on Dynamite, The Rainmaker currently sits in second place with a score of 10 in the Continental Classic. Meanwhile, Shelton Benjamin has scored six points, securing him the second-to-last position in the Blue League.

Following the match, the reigning AEW Continental Champion tried to make a middle finger gesture at The Gold Standard but failed. Therefore, he shook his hand instead. When Benjamin turned around to leave the ring, Okada surprisingly flipped him off behind his back.

Shelton Benjamin on AEW fans and fellow wrestlers

During a recent interview with ITR Wrestling's Kenny McIntosh, Shelton Benjamin talked about his experience working for AEW. The Gold Standard said he loved how much fans appreciated him in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Benjamin added that he enjoyed working with the wrestlers on the All Elite Wrestling roster.

"My biggest surprise is that the fans really appreciate what I bring to the table. I found that I have a lot of great chemistry with the guys I’ve been working with. I feel like I’ve been having nothing but just great matches with pretty much everyone I’ve been in the ring with. Just the fact that I’ve been able to gel so well with guys who I never have worked with before and put on great performances, that has been the biggest surprise to me. It shouldn’t be, because again, these are some of the best athletes in the world, some of the best professional wrestlers in the world. But it’s definitely a pleasant surprise."

The former WWE star made his AEW debut on the October 2, 2024, edition of Dynamite. Upon his arrival, he reunited with MVP to form The Hurt Syndicate.
