Alongside his acclaimed in-ring abilities, AEW's Kenny Omega has cultivated a reputation as an honest and complimentary person, often praising his opponents and even WWE Superstars and legends. However, The Best Bout Machine didn't have many nice things to say about former Stardom executive producer Rossy Ogawa.
Ogawa was a co-founder of World Wonder Ring Stardom, but the promotion's parent company, Bushiroad, terminated his contract in February. Ogawa has been accused of poaching talent and was even referred to as a "mole" by AEW President Tony Khan, who indicated that Rossy was in league with WWE.
During his latest Twitch stream, Kenny Omega commented on Ogawa's departure from Stardom, his founding of new Joshi promotion Marigold, and the allegations that have been leveled against him. The Cleaner claimed that the truth would come out someday before hinting at even darker allegations:
"When it finally comes out. I will say one thing, there are a lot of people who refuse to work for him for the very same reason. Some of those people are in WWE. Some are in AEW. They have a very good reason. It's not just, 'I decided to wake up and not like this guy.' If you want to know along what lines they tread amongst, the dude just flat-out said, 'We're looking for girls ages 13 to 21 that don't have a boyfriend and aren't married.'"
Omega spent over a decade in Japan and cultivated friendships with several top talents throughout the wrestling world. He alluded to things he had heard about Rossy over the years:
"We already know he puts underage girls in very revealing swimsuit calendars and books. I wish that's all he did. Let's put it that way. I don't know. I don't want to say anything. I'm not going on record to say anything. I don't want lawyers barking at my door. That's why I don't want to say anything. I don't have any sort of video evidence; I just have the good word of people who are very close." [h/t Fightful]
Kenny Omega says he stands with WWE Superstar Asuka
Asuka has become a top star in WWE over the past few years, but she was once one of the biggest names in Japan. However, a manifesto she wrote on the Joshi wrestling scene in 2010, combined with a falling-out with her former tag team partner, Nanae Takahashi, made her a controversial figure before she made the leap to WWE.
Nanae Takahashi would go on to become a founding member of World Wonder Ring Stardom, and Asuka has claimed that Stardom itself was founded to "defeat" her.
Kenny Omega seems to have taken the WWE Superstar's side when it comes to Stardom's founders, which includes Rossy Ogawa. In the same Twitch stream, The Cleaner gave the former Kana his support.
"My only comment, I'm with Asuka. That's it. We are bros. Always have been. She has her reasons and they are probably the same ones as mine," said Kenny Omega. [h/t Fightful]
Kenny Omega is still out of action after being diagnosed with diverticulitis, and he may undergo surgery soon. Meanwhile, Rossy Ogawa has founded a new Joshi wrestling promotion, Dream Star Fighting Marigold, which is rumored to have ties to WWE.
