Kenny Omega will be officially making his return to wrestling after almost a year, but this will be away from AEW. He has been out of action as he dealt with diverticulitis. The Cleaner has not been in the ring since December 5 last year, when he faced Ethan Page in a singles match during AEW's brief Canada tour.

Earlier this month, he made his return to NJPW at Power Struggle where he revealed his plans of facing one of the young stars on the roster in what would be his in-ring return at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. But during his appearance on the show, he got into a physical altercation backstage with Gabe Kidd.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling has just made the match official for the crossover pay-per-view. This will end up being Kenny Omega's in-ring return and his first bout with the 27-year-old. He has been open to facing Kidd for some time now but has left the decision to Hiroshi Tanahashi, and the Japanese promotion's management.

As things turned out, Kenny Omega will end up heading to NJPW first before AEW. He has not been seen in the Tony Khan-led promotion since May, where he was laid out by The Elite. It remains to be seen whether his long-awaited AEW return will be coming up soon.

Enzo Curabo
Enzo is a Pro Wrestling journalist at Sportskeeda, reporting on AEW. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Studies, which influenced his decision of taking up sports writing professionally, and has been an avid fan of the athletic theater since childhood. He believes readers deserve authentic and unique content and aims to report in a manner which pro wrestling fans can easily relate to.
Growing up, Enzo admired former world champions like AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Triple H, and Randy Orton for their finishing moves. As an adult, he started to appreciate their character work, as they juggled between heel and babyface gimmicks.
If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
Other than pro wrestling, Enzo enjoys keeping up with Basketball, Football, and Formula One. He also loves watching films, playing video games, and listening to music.
