The world of AEW is celebrating as Kenny Omega has made his big comeback, and is set to return to Dynamite this week. The multi-time champion battled serious health issues in the last year, but he was not the only wrestler battling this specific disease. It's now being revealed how Omega helped a longtime friend of Triple H with ties to WWE, WCW, TNA, NJPW, AAA, NWA, GCW, and other promotions.

The Best Bout Machine defeated Gabe Kidd in a brutal, bloody match at Wrestle Dynasty in Tokyo, Japan this past weekend. The 32-minute match was Omega's first since December 5, 2023, as he was on the shelf with a serious case of diverticulitis, which was thought to be career-ending at one point. The gastrointestinal disease is caused by inflammation of the intestines, and only around 15% of patients develop complications. Omega was among the few that had further troubles, as were Brock Lesnar and Sean Waltman.

X-Pac made a big revelation to Denise Salcedo on the red carpet of WWE's RAW Netflix premiere last night. When asked how he was doing, the 52-year-old said it's been years since he felt this good, but he quickly shut down the idea of a ring return while joking we will probably see him at the Royal Rumble now that he's publicly dismissed the idea. Waltman then revealed how he's been trying to get in better shape after his early 2024 bout with diverticulitis, which almost killed him.

"I haven't talked about this with anybody... earlier last year, I was in the hospital for eight days, with diverticulitis. It almost killed me, and so after that I lost a bunch of weight, like thirty pounds, and so I decided I'm going to take everything a little bit more serious, and get off my a*s, and you know... training every day," Sean Waltman said. Waltman said it took a while to feel better, and the disease did come back for a short time, but he went to the hospital as soon as he noticed. Salcedo brought up Omega's battle with diverticulitis, and that's when the two-time WWE Hall of Famer disclosed how the AEW EVP helped him through his own battle with the disease.

"Yeah, I was in the hospital texting with him, and he's telling me what's going on, and what I should expect, and everything. [Salcedo gives shout-out to Omega] Yeah, he's great," Sean Waltman said. [From 1:58 to 2:10]

Waltman wrapped his in-ring career up on March 31, 2022, at Joey Janela's Spring Break Part 6, hosted by GCW. The veteran superstar lost to the former AEW star in just under twenty minutes, one month after Waltman and Janela defeated Matt Cardona and Brian Myers at a GCW event.

Kenny Omega returning to AEW Dynamite

Kenny Omega is finally making his full-time return to AEW storylines. The All Elite EVP returned to the ring with a win over Gabe Kidd this past weekend at Wrestle Dynasty, which was co-promoted by NJPW, AEW, ROH, CMLL, and Stardom.

The Cleaner has been officially announced for Wednesday's live Dynamite from the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, TN. There's no word yet on what Omega has in store for the All Elite fans, but a match with Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada is expected.

Omega appeared on Dynamite back in May but was attacked by former stablemates The Elite. Kenny's last All Elite match was a win over Ethan Page on the taped December 9, 2023 edition of Collision.
