Tony Khan recently hired one of the most popular factions in pro wrestling to AEW. The group was forced to disband in WWE. Seeing the stable's All Elite Wrestling tenure so far, wrestling legend Konnan believes Khan will book its members to win championship gold.
During a recent edition of his podcast, Keepin' It 100, Konnan praised current AEW World Tag Team Champions, Private Party, for their efforts to become a top tandem. However, after witnessing the events of the January 8 edition of Dynamite, the veteran believed that the duo was outshined by the arrival of The Hurt Syndicate.
Konnan called the trio of MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin 'cool heels,' who were hard for fans to boo. Moreover, he made a strong prediction that The Hurt Syndicate would go after the World Tag Team Title and potentially dethrone Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen.
"It almost feels like these guys [Private Party] are working hard to get over. MVP and his boys come in and punked them, they are heels and they are like cool heels and its hard to boo a cool heel, you know (...) and it looks like they are going for the tag team title and they probably would take it from them."
The Hurt Syndicate made its intentions clear on the January 8 edition of AEW Dynamite
Private Party opened last week's edition of AEW Dynamite to celebrate their successful tag team title defense over Lio Rush and Action Andretti on Collision. But their celebrations were cut short due to the arrival of The Hurt Syndicate.
At first, MVP and his teammates raised a toast to Private Party. However, they quickly turned the tables and dedicated it to themselves and their potential future as the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
With The Hurt Syndicate making its intentions clear, Kassidy and Marq Quen's title reign is seemingly in danger. It will be interesting to see whether they can stop the wrath of the villainous group.
