WCW veteran Konnan recently discussed who could replace Tony Khan in a big role in AEW. The latter established AEW in 2019 with EVPs Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks. While being over popular initially, some fans heavily criticized the product due to its flaws, whether it was a booking issue or their struggle to sell tickets for their shows.

Despite having blockbuster matches on every show, many believe AEW lacks storylines, which has been driving away many fans. Many veterans have pointed out that Tony Khan should remove himself as the booker and assign someone else for the position as he may not have the requisite experience to do that.

While speaking on Keeping It 100 OFFICIAL, Konnan revealed many names like Jeff Jarrett, Dean Malenko, Sonjay Dutt, and Jimmy Jacobs could replace Tony as a booker. However, he also believed that the AEW's President wouldn't like the idea of getting replaced as a booker.

"I would just put a committee of Jimmy Jacobs, Sonjay, Jeff [Jarrett], who else is back there, maybe Dean Malenko. Just put a good committee. Those guys, they have been around, they know what's going on. I wouldn't have any wrestlers in there. And if the top guys have a good idea, listen to them and if it's a good idea, use it. But I don't think he's ever gonna give up that mantle. It's his baby, he likes being head of creative, he likes booking everything, he likes being the full-hand, analyst guy, the Jacksonville Jaguar draft guy, he likes all that," Konnan said. Konnan admits it's hard to deal with Tony Khan

AAA and AEW have had multiple crossovers in the past, with wrestlers of one company making occasional appearances on the other show.

While speaking on Keeping It 100 OFFICIAL, AAA Producer Konnan confessed it was hard to work with Tony Khan as he often pulled his wrestlers from the show at the last minute and was too expensive. Konnan also stressed on the fact that AAA was doing well, selling out their shows everywhere, even without needing AEW's help for that.

"We’ve been selling out everywhere. We don’t even need AEW, and they’re expensive and it’s hard to deal with them because they pull 'em out at the last minute," he said.

Only time will tell who can fill Tonyshoes if he decides to step down and get somebody to handle the creative aspect of AEW while he took care of everything else.
