Konnan seemingly confirms 40-year-old star is returning to AEW months after sudden exit

Konnan believes that a major star could be returning to AEW after leaving the promotion recently. While Tony Khan signed some top free agents in 2024, many talents have also left the company.

Jimmy Jacobs is a well-known name in the independent scene. He previously worked for WWE in the creative team as a writer but was controversially released from the promotion after he posted a picture of himself with members of Bullet Club during their "invasion" of RAW.

Jacobs also wound up as a producer for AEW in 2023. He also competed for ROH earlier this year against Satnam Singh. After over a year in a backstage role, it was reported that he left the promotion in October 2024.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 Official podcast, Konnan and Disco Inferno discussed how Tony Khan could put ROH to use better. The 59-year-old veteran said a different booker, such as Sonjay Dutt or Jimmy Jacobs, should book ROH. When Disco pointed out that Jacobs was no longer part of the company, Konnan mentioned that he learned from a reliable source that Jimmy was returning.

"Yeah, but I think he's coming back. [...] I believe so, yeah. [...] I don't know if that's hot news but it's pretty good. It's news that was told to me from a pretty good source." [From 01:15 to 01:30]

Konnan admits he's no longer a fan of Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley and The Death Riders have taken over AEW in one of the most brutal storylines in recent memory. With Mox and his crew around, no one is safe. Much of this storyline has reportedly been written by The Purveyor of Violence as he plays the role of the company's savior, trying to get the Jacksonville-based promotion back to its glory days. This entire storyline has gotten mixed reactions from a lot of people.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 Official podcast, Konnan recalled an incident that first turned him into Moxley's fan. However, he admitted that he is not a fan of Mox's current booking in AEW.

"I remember Norman Smiley who works at the like training guide in WWE and I remember him saying here there's this guy, what was his name before Moxley, Dean Ambrose. He goes there's this kid called Dean Ambrose you got to look out for him cause he's very different. He walks to the beat of his own drum and he's going to be a star one day and so I went and I looked for him and I saw this promo he did in the Indies and I was like, 'Wow! this guy is good'. So, I was a big Dean Ambrose Moxley fan too. I'm not a fan of what he's doing right now." [From 02:15 to 02:55]

It will be interesting to see which direction the current Death Riders storyline will take in AEW.
