Speculation about the return of a former AEW star to WWE has been running wild for the past few months. The star in question is none other than CM Punk.
Since he departed AEW, CM Punk has been at the center of speculation, with many fans anticipating his return to WWE at Survivor Series, which will take place in his hometown Chicago.
WWE has also been teasing references to Seth Rollins in his recent program with Shinsuke Nakamura. When Rollins called himself the 'best in the world,' Michael Cole referenced his ROH promo, while Corey Graves used his infamous 'devil' promo to promote Rollins' match against Nakamura.
Wrestling veteran and former WCW star Konnan has also jumped on the speculation of a former WWE Champion returning to the Stamford-based promotion.

Konnan shared his thoughts on the latest episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, stating Punk always creates a buzz whenever his name is mentioned.
"Bro, this is a great chance. You're going to Chicago. I know you're hot, but why not have another hot storyline ... they've got to see the traction that Punk creates. Look at the traction he creates when we talk about him, and so he creates traction. He's got a story. I gotta think they want to use him, but you know, we'll see," Konnan said. (2:53 - 3:15)

If The Second City Saint does return to Stamford-based promotion, it will be the first time fans can see him in the promotion since the Royal Rumble in 2014.
WWE teased CM Punk's return again
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, fans noticed one more tease of CM Punk.
In a backstage promo, Shinsuke Nakamura called out Ricochet, raising the stakes by expressing his desire to be set free by a worthy opponent. He asked, 'Who is worthy enough to set me free?'
Fans quickly noticed the reference to CM Punk's iconic theme lyrics: ' You won't have to follow me, only you can set me free.'
This tease has got the fans excited to see if the former AEW star is returning and whether this leads to a showdown between the two at Survivor Series.
