AEW just wrapped its final event of 2024. The second annual Worlds End pay-per-view has come and gone with Tony Khan's company setting another record in the pro wrestling history books. Kris Statlander caused a stir by issuing a brand new statement on the massive achievement and revealing what's coming next.

Mercedes Moné extended her first-ever reign with the AEW TBS Championship to 217 days and counting by defeating Statlander at Worlds End. The near-25-minute win was a rematch from Full Gear in late November, where the champion retained in just over 19 minutes. Mercedes and Kris set a new record at Worlds End with the longest women's match in company history.

The Galaxy's Greatest Alien is now ready to be great in All Elite Wrestling. Speaking to Alicia Atout after the Worlds End loss to the former Sasha Banks, Statlander was asked about what's next.

"Is it worth having an incredible match if I don’t win? Is it worth having a classic, two classics, if I lose both of them? I’ve been... 'good' for a long time now. It’s time I go be great," Kris Statlander said in the video below.

Before this weekend, no women's match in All Elite history had made it to 20 minutes. Statlander vs. Moné at Full Gear went 19 minutes and 25 seconds, while the match at Worlds End lasted 24 minutes and 35 seconds.

Mercedes Moné to defend at AEW co-promoted event

Mercedes Moné is returning to the Tokyo Dome in Japan for an upcoming title defense. The former Sasha Banks has the chance to hold championship gold for three different promotions.

Moné vs. Mina Shirakawa has been confirmed for Wrestle Dynasty on January 5 in Tokyo, which is co-produced by NJPW, AEW, ROH, Stardom, and CMLL. Mina's RevPro Undisputed British Women's Championship will be on the line, while Mercedes will put her NJPW Strong Women's Championship up, but not her AEW TBS Championship.

Shirakawa has held RevPro's Undisputed British Women's Championship since dethroning Dani Luna on August 24. Mercedes has held the Strong Women's title since dethroning Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door on June 30.
