Lance Archer recently spoke about reuniting with a former WWE star in AEW. The latter is none other than Alex Zayne.
The Murderhawk Monster is undoubtedly one of the most impressive athletes currently signed to the Tony Khan-led promotion. Archer has been primarily competing in ROH while occasionally appearing on AEW Collision and Dynamite for matches against Claudio Castagnoli and Will Ospreay.
During a recent edition of The Murderhawk Mailbag, Lance Archer addressed his interest in working with his Monster Sauce tag team partner, Alex Zayne, in All Elite Wrestling. The 47-year-old star was unable to put a date on a possible reunion with The Sauce, noting that he does not hold the creative authority to book the partnership.
“I don’t know. I love these questions. It’s so hard to answer because that’s so out of my control. When are you gonna see more of Monster Sauce? I don’t know, I don’t book this s**t, and that’s part of the problem [laughs]. But then again, don’t hand me the book because then I will be world champion, and it will be WCW. Yeah, I don’t know. We were hoping to be part of more stuff."
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
However, he recalled having teamed with Zayne in AEW's sister promotion, ROH, earlier this year, expressing his willingness to appear alongside him in the Jacksonville-based company and also in NJPW.
"I think the last time we did anything together was GCW. It would be great to do more. Actually no, we appeared together at the ROH pay-per-view. We would love for it to happen more often. I would love for it to happen at AEW, we would love to make more appearances in New Japan because that’s where we kind of were born as a team, but again, I don’t book this s**t, so I don’t know.” [H/T Fightful]
Alex Zayne previously made several appearances in WWE in 2021, where he faced off against current All Elite Wrestling stars Ari Daivari and Tony Nese. Lately, he has been competing in the independent wrestling circuit.
Lance Archer's last AEW appearance took place on Collision
In his most recent All Elite Wrestling appearance, Lance Archer took on Mark Briscoe on the September 6, 2024, episode of Collision in a qualifying match for the Four-Way Continental Title bout that had been scheduled for All Out 2024.
The Ticked-Off Texan went to war with Briscoe in the Now Arena in Chicago, Illinois, with the ROH World Champion ultimately securing the victory over Archer after delivering multiple Froggy Bows.
It remains to be seen what lies next for Lance Archer in AEW.
