A former champion was knocked out on AEW Collsion a few weeks ago. More updates regarding his injury recently hit social media.

Former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle recently suffered an injury while wrestling on an AEW weekly show. On July 20, AEW head Tony Khan updated the fans that he would be out of action for the rest of 2024.

Castle was knocked out during his last match, which led the wrestling universe to believe that he had sustained a significant injury to his head. However, Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observe Live clarified that he was sidelined for an unknown injury that needed surgery. His absence from the ring has nothing to do with concussion.

Alvarez said, “Dalton got knocked out by Roderick Strong but apparently was not diagnosed with a concussion. The reason that he’s out for the rest of the year actually has nothing to do with his head but he suffered a different injury and needs surgery. What the injury is, I don’t know specifically.”

Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio finally disclosed what kind of injury is keeping Dalton Castle away from the ring until 2025. He stated that the 38-year-old star was dealing with a torn bicep.

“Torn biceps that was the deal with the surgery and everything,” Meltzer reported. [H/T f4wonline.com]

What happened to Dalton Castle in his last match on AEW?

The last time fans saw Dalton Castle inside the ring for a match was on AEW Collision. He took on Roderick Strong for the ROH World Title Number One Contendership.

The ending segment of the match featured Strong delivering a flying knee to Castle which knocked him out. The referee counted two and held up the count as the former ROH World Television Champion was supposed to kick out.

However, Castle didn't move so the referee had to count three and declare Strong the winner. It was later reported that the match wasn't supposed to end the way it did on the Saturday Night show.
