MJF made headlines last year when he hinted at the possibility of him signing with WWE once his current contract with AEW expired. Recently, a legend opened up on speculation and said he was glad that didn't happen.

Jim Ross is the latest to comment on MJF. Maxwell Jacob Friedman is undoubtedly the best homegrown talent in AEW. He quickly rose to prominence due to his mic skills which are second to none. His ability to verbally spar with anyone put him on the map. This also resulted in him winning the AEW World Championship.

However, after losing the title to Samoa Joe at Worlds End last December, his future in AEW was in doubt after he was absent from television for several months to nurse his wounds. This also gave rise to speculation that Maxwell would leave the company for WWE much like he had teased in the past. However, that didn't turn out to be true as Friedman returned at AEW Double or Nothing and attacked Adam Cole.

During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross spoke about Maxwell Jacob Friedman and said that he's very glad to have him in AEW. He also expressed delight over the fact that the Salt of the Earth didn't leave All Elite Wrestling for WWE

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"He’s [MJF] a fan of the product. I know there was a lot of speculation that he was going to leave and go to WWE, and thank goodness that didn’t happen. But I’m a big fan of his. He’s like any other young kid. He’s gotta mature, he’s gotta come along. His age has gotta catch up with his experience." [H/T Ringside News]

Jim Ross says MJF misuses his clout a bit

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has shown a lot of growth in such a short period in AEW. Right now, he is one of the most popular stars on the entire roster so much so that everyone is talking about him.

During the same podcast episode, Jim Ross was all praise for Friedman. However, he also mentioned that MJF misuses his clout a little bit.

"He's [MJF] very bright, very, very bright. And sometimes I think that he uses...misuses his clout a little bit. [...] He needs more patience with himself, and he needs to understand that it's not always about him. But it is, more often than not. And he's really good, he's very talented, so I just think that he's got to slow down sometimes, and enjoy the journey. I think sometimes he's impatient, I think sometimes, he needs to take a deep breath and enjoy his journey. If he did, he'd probably have a better overall experience." [From 02:20 to 03:30]

MJF attacked Daniel Garcia last week on Dynamite. It will be interesting to see whether he will face Garcia at AEW All In.
