The 29-year-old star made his debut at the Jacksonville-based promotion in September 2022. While he wrestled just three matches in his inaugural year, Bandido became a fan-favorite high-flyer in 2023. However, tragedy struck him after he sustained a serious injury.
On the June 14, 2023 edition of Rampage, Bandido wrestled Konosuke Takeshita in an exciting match. Unfortunately, the former injured his wrist and required surgery to recover. While the star was almost ready to return to the squared circle at the end of 2023, reports emerged that he would need another surgery due to improper wrist recovery.

After a long wait, AEW finally teased the return of the masked wrestler. Tonight's Dynamite aired a vignette in which two people talked about a 'most wanted' individual who had returned to town. He had been absent for more than 530 days.
The official date of his return hasn't been announced yet. Only time will tell who will be his first opponent following his return.
