A top star and former champion of AEW suffered a huge loss at Full Gear 2024 in a brutal matchup, during which he was dropped on his head. The star in question, Will Ospreay, took on a former-ally-turned-bitter-enemy at the event.
A long-time friendship came to a shocking end at WrestleDream last month when Kyle Fletcher betrayed Will Ospreay and helped his Don Callis Family stablemate Konosuke Takeshita win the AEW International Championship. After spending some time off TV, The Aerial Assassin came after his former teammate for revenge and, earlier in November, agreed to face him in a singles match at Full Gear 2024.
The former United Empire stablemates clashed in a back-and-forth and hard-hitting clash at the pay-per-view. The emotionally charged feud played out in a violent fashion as both men exchanged vicious moves and countermoves. At one point in the bout, The Protostar stunned fans by hitting a tombstone piledriver on Ospreay onto the steel ring steps off the apron.
Opting to pin the Englishman rather than win by count-out, Fletcher returned Ospreay to the ring. Eventually, he delivered a turnbuckle brainbuster on the former International Champion and secured a major singles victory.
After the bout, Fletcher's former Aussie Open tag partner, Mark Davis, arrived to check on Ospreay in the ring. It remains to be seen what lies next for The Aussie Arrow in AEW.
