Two top AEW stars engaged in a heated confrontation with FTR before walking away on the latest episode of Collision. The talents in question are Max Caster and Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed.
The latest episode of AEW Collision featured a massive eight-person tag team match in the main event, pitting The Beast Mortos alongside Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven of The Undisputed Kingdom against Darby Allin, FTR, and ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe. The bout ended with the babyfaces securing the victory.
After the match, Dax Harwood addressed the crowd and referred to himself and his partner Cash Wheeler as the heart and soul of AEW. His remark prompted The Acclaimed, along with Billy Gunn, to emerge and head to the ring. Max Caster reminded FTR of their success in the 2024 Blood and Guts match against The Elite last month and took further shots at Harwood and Wheeler.
Anthony Bowens then emphasized that they were resolved to establish the legacy of The Acclaimed and refused to let FTR cut in line ahead of them for a shot at The Young Bucks and their AEW World Tag Team Titles. The Scissor King further reminded The Top Guys that he and Bowens hold a victory over them, alluding to their past encounter in December 2022.
The confrontation between the two teams nearly escalated to a brawl, which was broken up by Mark Briscoe. FTR offered The Acclaimed a reconciliatory handshake, but the latter were pulled away by Billy Gunn and left the ring, rejecting the olive branch.
It remains to be seen if The Acclaimed and FTR will square off in a match ahead of All In 2024.
