AEW Forbidden Door kicked off with MJF facing off against Hechicero in a singles match. As expected, the bout was a banger. However, MJF may have sustained an injury during the course of the match.

The Salt of the Earth had returned only recently after he recovered from a torn labrum that he had from before his match at Worlds End. Although he had stated after his return that he was ready to take on any opponent, there had been concerns about his health considering he had reportedly not undergone surgery for his labrum.
In the match itself, Hechicero opted to prioritize MJF's left arm as his target. This led to the former AEW World Champion clutching the said arm almost throughout the bout, struggling to stay on top of his opponent. Despite the apparent injury, Maxwell was able to gain the upper hand and take down Hechicero for the win.

Fans also noticed that MJF did not linger around after the win, preferring to quickly exit the arena. This led to many wondering if he had legitimately hurt his shoulder again by working on top of a pre-existing injury.
As of now, only time will tell if the AEW star is actually injured or simply selling the match a little too convincing manner.
