The Elite consists of The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada. The Rainmaker recently received a threat from a non-AEW star, Gabe Kidd.
Kidd works for NJPW, where he holds the Strong Openweight Championship. He squared off against Kenny Omega this past weekend at Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Despite a fabulous performance, he couldn't defeat The Best Bout Machine.
The British wrestler recently had an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. During the chat, Kidd verbally destroyed Kazuchika Okada. He said Okada jumped ship from NJPW to AEW for easy paychecks.
“I don’t give a f**k what Okada is doing right now. He ran away from here because he knew the new generation were coming up and he can’t hang anymore. He went to AEW for an easy paycheck. That’s that. He went there to make easy money and he’s been joking around the whole time, looking like an absolute clown.”
Kidd added that if he ever came face to face with the AEW Continental Champion, he would annihilate him.
“It’s not even a comparison. Greatest tournament wrestler of all time? Come on, man. You’re walking around slapping people on the head like it’s a joke. You slap my bald head like that, I’m going to get up and knock you straight out, you little prick. I’m not thinking about Okada. I’m gonna deal with him when the time comes. It’s not going to get to that. They want to keep all their guys away from me. They put them in the ring with me, I’m going to keep taking them out. I’m going to f**k them up and hurt them. That’s what I do. I hurt people. I injure people.” [H/T: Fightful]
Kazuchika Okada won the 2024 AEW Continental Classic Tournament
At the Worlds End pay-per-view, Kazuchika Okada beat Ricochet, while Will Ospreay defeated Kyle Fletcher to advance to the final of the 2024 Continental Classic Tournament.
In the final, The Aerial Assassin came close to picking up the win a few times. But The Rainmaker ultimately prevailed. This victory marked the fifth major tournament win for The Elite member. He has won the G1 Climax in NJPW four times in his career.
