A top AEW star has given details about Sting's son Steve's in-ring career. The name being discussed is Darby Allin.

The veteran joined AEW in 2020 and was aligned with Darby Allin for most of his run. The duo was involved in some of the classic and brutal bouts. They even held the AEW World Tag Team Championship before the Icon hung up his boots. He retired this year after defeating The Young Bucks at the Revolution pay-per-view.

Ahead of their match at Revolution, Sting's sons, Garrett and Steven Jr, paid tribute to his remarkable career. Also, the duo got physical with the EVPs during the contest, which led fans to speculate if The Icon's children could enter the ring in the future. Weeks later, Darby stated that he had been training Steven Burden to become a pro wrestler.

While speaking with Uproxx, Darby revealed Steve is still training and doesn't intend to rush for him to start his career.

“He’s still training. He stays outside in the tent in my front yard. And then yeah, it’s still coming. Definitely want to take our time with that and not rush anything. Because we don’t want it to look like, ‘Oh, Sting’s son’s getting a handout and we’re just going to rush him in there and this guy sucks really bad in the ring.’ No, we want to make sure he’s ready to rock, you know, whenever he steps foot in the ring you only get one shot at a first impression,” he said. Vince Russo warns Sting's son ahead of his wrestling debut

Steve Burden started training under the tutelage of Darby Allin following making an appearance at the Revolution pay-per-view.

While speaking with The Wrestling Outlaws, WCW Veteran Vince Russo said that Steve shouldn't follow the Icon's legacy and advised him to create his path.

"That's really tough bro because you don't wanna put him in a situation where he's gotta follow his father's footsteps. It just ain't happening bro. So that's gonna be very very very difficult. It's gonna be something so different and so unique than what Sting was," he said.

It remains to be seen whether Steve will debut in any wrestling promotion.
