Maria Kanellis has been going through a rough time lately. She has now given an important update on her health amid rumors of her AEW contract expiring soon.
Maria Kanellis first made a name for herself in WWE where she wrestled for several years. After leaving the Stamford-based promotion, she continued to work on the independent scene along with her husband, Mike Bennett. However, her career has been put on hold for the time being.
Kanellis sought medical attention earlier this year after experiencing various symptoms. After a CT scan was performed, a mass was discovered on her adrenal gland. Upon further evaluation, the doctors suspected that the mass could be pheochromocytoma which, although usually benign, is a serious tumor that could affect hormone production.
Her surgery which was originally scheduled for September this year was postponed to October 24 to allow her some time to take her medication so that she doesn't have any heart complications during the procedure. Maria underwent a successful surgery to remove her mass.

Post the surgery, the former WWE star took to her X (fka Twitter) account to let her fans know that her bloodwork looked good and she is awaiting the biopsy results to determine the nature of the mass.
"Hello all, I am still in the hospital. The surgery went well and my bloodwork looks good. We should have the biopsy results in 7-10 days to figure out exactly what the mass was. I like to call the mass Arnold. I may stay overnight one more night because I have nausea and a headache when standing which may be blood pressure related or something else. Everyone at Rush has been amazing and so kind," she wrote.

Mike Bennett also confirmed that Maria Kanellis' surgery went well
Maria Kanellis' recent health issues had fans worried for her. However, her surgery seemed to be quite a success with her husband also confirming the same.
Bennett took to his X account to confirm that her surgery went well and she will be staying overnight for observation. You can check out his tweet by clicking here.
"Maria’s surgery went well. She is staying overnight at the hospital for observation and should be released tomorrow. My wife is a bad**s. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out. We love y’all so very much," he wrote.
It is indeed good news that Kanellis' surgery went well and we hope to see her back on AEW TV soon.
