Mark Henry asked a top AEW star to change his in-ring style. This star is a former champion in Tony Khan's company.
PAC is one of the most acclaimed talents on AEW's roster. He was the first-ever All Atlantic Champion (now the International Championship) and held the Trios Championship. PAC was known for his high-flying antics in the ring. However, he has since changed his in-ring style thanks to a wrestling legend.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry revealed that he asked PAC to limit the number of high spots he does.
"I told him to, I said man you so damn entertaining, all you got to do is act like you gonna go up there and then don't do it. You want heat? He was like, 'You're right,' and he started doing it and I said you know who you are? You're a smaller version of me. Be mean, be hateful, he's just more physically talented than I am. That dude is incredible and another one that is underutilized for his skillset." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
Teddy Long explains the reason Mark Henry left AEW
Mark Henry joined AEW a couple of years ago and started doing commentary for Rampage. However, he hasn't been involved in any physicality. Despite his relaxed role in Tony Khan's promotion, Henry recently revealed that he was leaving the company.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long revealed that Henry left AEW because he might want to spend more time with his son.
"Well now that's a thing I think Mark has wanted to do too. I think he wanted to be right there with his son. Be by his side, because he is really, you know. Now there's two people that really certainly love each other. I have watched Jacob grow right up with him, man, and Mark has always been a great dad, been right there for him and all, every one of his appearances, games or whatever. When Mark could make it, he was always there if he wasn't on the road. But right now, he has really got good time where he is able to be with him." [0:58 onwards]
It remains to be seen if PAC will use Mark Henry's advice in the long run or if he will resort to his old ways.
