WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently sent a message to wrestling companies that wish to sign his son to a contract. The veteran's son Jacob is currently an amateur wrestler.
The World's Strongest Man has been pretty vocal about his son's accomplishments in amateur wrestling and his milestones are pretty impressive. Jacob Henry who's currently competing at Oklahoma Wrestling recently secured his 100th victory in amateur wrestling and has an interest in pursuing professional wrestling as a full-time career.
In an interview with Sportskeeda's Bill Apter, Mark Henry revealed that his son's current focus is to be a college All-American and then he will move his focus to professional wrestling. However, he warned the big promotions that they would be speaking to him during Jacob's negotiations.
"I feel like whoever signs Jacob to an NIL deal, they're gonna realize really fast that he's not your typical wrestler or wrestling fan or enthusiast. They gonna realize. You're gonna pump the brakes on him. You gotta tell him to stop. He's been in the ring with some great great wrestlers already and that's not what the focus is. The focus is to go and be a college All-American and once those days are over with, if the big companies come calling, they gonna talk to me." [From 07:44 to 08:35]
The former World Champion further stated that he'd like to travel the world with his son before he goes off to sign with major companies. Henry stated he wants to put him against stars like Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson before he signs with a big contract.
"I want him to have matches with [Bryan] Danielson and [Chris] Jericho and guys like that have mentored him already and then when that day comes, when he comes in, he gonna be ready to go." [From 09:30 to 09:46]
